Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a couple things that can save you some headaches and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Zelienople and the last thing you want is to discover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it operating at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to schedule your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 724-425-5852.
